Circle of Love Artwork Installed Around Town

Aug 27, 2020 10:23AM ● By Cynthia Whitty

“01721 Circle of Love” art project, which began in May and runs until the end of the year, encourages Ashland residents and business owners to fill in 8-inch circles with artwork. “This project was designed during the community’s isolation during the COVID-10 pandemic to use art as the engine that brings us together and envelopes Ashland in a Circle of Love,” Ashley Place, town communications and cultural coordinator, said.

The 01721 Circle of Love committee, made up of town staff (Ashley Place, Beth Reynolds) and community members (Visi Tilak, Amy Caruso), have received circles from individuals of all ages and from families. Circles are decorated with different mediums: paint, stickers, ribbon, and colored pencil. The first installation of artwork is now displayed on the first floor of the town hall; appointments are currently needed to enter the building. The committee also hopes to have installations at the public library and the Ashland High School and possibly at storefronts.
