Events Around Town

It is officially event season for the Town of Ashland! June held so many great events such as The Corner Spot Opening Day Birthday Party Celebration, the kickoff to our MetroWest famous Farmers Market, Juneteenth Celebration, and more. We hope that you had a great time at these events and look forward to participating in all of the upcoming events!
Ashland Farmers Market
The Farmers Market launched its eleventh season on June 11th from 9 am – 1 pm downtown on 125 Front Street. Food vendors lined the space on Front Street, while the community enjoyed a live performance by Railroad House Band. At Kids’ Corner, Ashland’s youngest community members had fun with collage. Vendors ranging from fresh produce, prepared foods, delicious sweets, and beverages offered something for everyone.  Artisans complemented the day offering unique items to gift yourself or a loved one. It was an amazing day with great weather and community atmosphere!
The Corner Spot
The Corner Spot season began with an Opening Day Birthday Party Celebration celebrating 5 years of the space. The community gathered for great food from the Art of Umami and live music from Hit the Bus. Fresh lemonade, cupcakes, an ice cream truck, and candy bus were perfect editions to this birthday party! Thank you to everyone that helped celebrate this community spot!
Also in June, The Corner Spot showcased vendors for Shop on the Spot. New this year, this Shop on the Spot is an opportunity to discover new businesses, their products, and shop from different vendors all in one spot! Community members shopped from Decolores Houseware, Simply Eeve, Bali Marle, Meybell’s Beauty Shop, Sandie Rossini Designs, Bright Beginning, and more!  Our local cable station WACA TV also hosted a Summer Movie night where we had delicious food, beverages, and ice cream while we watched the 80’s classic E.T Extra Terrestrial.
There is always fun to be had at the #bestspotintown!
Juneteenth
The community groups Ashland is United and Ashland Residents for Equitable Action teamed up to host a very important event, Juneteenth. Held at The Corner Spot, the community gathered to celebrate the newly established Federal holiday commemorating the emancipation of black Americans and celebrating African- American culture. The day included performances from Mirlande Butler, Drum Nomads, and a poetry recitation. Lisa Abbascia of Backstage Dance also led a dance workshop. Chef Sentie of Sentie’s Kitchen prepared a delicious menu featuring his signature African BBQ Cuisine. We had a wonderful time celebrating this important holiday.
