Greater Ashland Lions Club Happy Easter!! Happy Spring!!

The Greater Ashland Lions Club celebrates its 30th Anniversary of “We Serve”.
We Thank all those that attended our delicious St. Patrick’s Day Dinner.
Come have fun at our 26th Quiz / Trivia Night that will be held on April 14th at 6:30pm at the VFW, 311 Pleasant Street. Form a team (8 people maximum) for this friendly trivia competition and win a Cash Prize. There will also be a 50/50 Raffle, Basket Raffles, Dessert Table, and a Cash Bar. Contact Lion Ro at 508.881.4743 or Lion Nicole at 781.718.6478 for tickets ($20/per person).
For those of you who have (or plan to) donate used eyeglasses and wondered what the Lions do with them. Recently members participated in an Eyeglass Project. This involved washing, checking the prescription and packing 1,000 pairs that will to be sent to countries where citizens cannot afford them.
Applications for scholarships will be given to an Ashland High School and a Keefe Technical School Student are now available. Students who are interested should contact the guidance department at their school.

Again this year, seedlings will be given to each fourth grade student at the David Mindess School to celebrate Arbor Day. In conjunction with Arbor Day, we are sponsoring a Book Reading. The book “The Tree in Dock Square” will be read by Author Jean Woodbury at the Ashland Public Library on Saturday, April 22nd from 1-3pm. The story is about community spirit, hope, and renewal, a timely topic for National Arbor Day and is aimed at both children and adults.
Do you have any used eyeglasses hanging around? We’ll take them! Please bring them to the Police Station (located on Main Street), Market Basket (Pond Street / Rte.126), the VFW (at 311 Pleasant Street), or the Town Hall (Main Street).
Wanting to get involved in the community? We’re a low-pressure group of service-oriented folks always looking for new members. If you’d like to learn more about the Lions and our club, please contact Lion Alexis at [email protected]
