On Sat., May 4, the Ashland Public Library hosted a Mini Ren Faire that included everything you would imagine when you think about a Renaissance Faire.
An estimated 600 people attended the events that took place inside the library and on the lawn near the town gazebo.

Fairegoers enjoyed time-appropriate costumes, wandering minstrels, knight fights, flower sellers, roaming musicians, jugglers and jesters, and a Knighting Ceremony with the Queen.
Guests also enjoyed an interactive pirate show, crafts, learning to juggle, popup story times, face painting, mining for gems, candle making, magic demonstrations, DIY catapults, “axe” throwing, and more.
“It was a total blast!” said Ashland Public Library Director Meena Jain, who said this was the first event of its kind. “The idea came about when I met Kathy Antobenedetto who had wanted to volunteer for the Friends. When I heard she’s a Ren Faire aficionado, the idea was born.”
