Pond Street Promenade at Summer Solstice

What works for community connections? Well, literally we have to the physical connection available which is why the new sidewalks on Pond Street are so important.  To continue our community building, there is a free low-key event coming up.   Promenade is a fancy word for going out walking (vocabulary.com).  With our new sidewalks on Pond Street (Rt. 126), as a fun way to support community and interact with others we’d love you to participate in the event by just walking!  To make it more fun, ‘dressing up’ in some way is encouraged, though absolutely not required.  Showing up is the most important.  The event is in collaboration with The Ashland Business Association (ABA). We hope to have families, individuals, business and other organizations all be part of the promenade.

Not too long ago, it simply wasn’t possible to safely walk along Pond Street. Though the sidewalks and project are not 100% complete, the majority of the 2-mile route has safe complete sidewalks.  Walk along Pond Street for the Promenade, concentrating on the lower end near Framingham since many won’t have time for the whole 2 mile walk up and 2 miles back.

To participate in the Promenade, if you can’t walk there from your home, there are locations to park such as along Butterfield Drive, Market Basket Plaza.  Come join the walk, plan your route, and even support the local businesses along the route.

Any businesses/organizations that are interested in participating in this event, whether it’s to volunteer, offer fun specials during this time, let the Ashland Business Association know so we can help promote your addition! Send an email to [email protected]
