New from Greater Ashland Lions Club
A Big Thank You! goes out to all those who stopped-by to see us at National Night Out and to those that visited us at our White Cane Day Toll Road (that was co-sponsored with the Ashland Lions Club).
Also, many Thanks for visiting us at our booths at both Dragonfly Faire and Ashland Day. For those that were interested in the Cookies for Kids Cancer, please go to this website: https://my.beagoodcookie.org/fundraiser/6556184.
Our Annual Porchetta will be held on Thursday, Oct. 16 at the Ashland VFW, 311 Pleasant Street, Ashland. It’ll start at 6 p.m. and be catered by Marconi’s & Co. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased by contacting either Lion Debbi at 508-881-2117 or Lion Alexis at 508-881-3022. No tickets will be sold at the door.
Again this year we will be collecting gently used coats for children and adults from October to January. For further information, please contact Lion Debbi at 508-881-2117.
Lions are always busy. Either helping out where needed or having events to raise money for Eye Research or other organizations supported by Lions Clubs International. These are just some of the organizations supported: Hunger Action Month (World Food Day), Vision (World Blindness Awareness Month), Childhood Cancer, Disaster Relief, Environment (World Cleanup Day) and Humanitarian (International Day of Peace).
For those of you who may have any used eyeglasses or un-needed hearing aids, you may drop them off at the Police Station (located in the Public Safety Building at 12 Union St.), Market Basket (Pond St. / Rte.126), the VFW (at 311 Pleasant St.), or the Town Hall (Main St.).
Do you have Pull Tabs? We still collect them and they get sent to the Shriners. Contact Lion Rosalie at 508-881-4743 for more info.
Wanting to get involved in the community? We’re a low-pressure group of service-oriented folks always looking for new members. If you'd like to learn more about the Lions and our club, please contact Lion Alexis at [email protected].
