We are thrilled to announce a new and innovative partnership between the Ashland Senior Center and the Keefe Tech Culinary Department. This collaboration is truly a win–win for everyone involved, creating meaningful benefits for both our seniors and the culinary students.
Through this program, seniors enjoy freshly prepared, nutritious meals made in-house by Keefe Tech’s talented culinary students—at a subsidized rate. Meals typically cost between $9–$12 each to prepare, but thanks to our Subsidized Senior Meal Program, seniors pay just $6. The response has been tremendous: all reservations for the last three meals have been completely filled.
For Keefe Tech students, the program provides invaluable hands-on experience in catering, nutrition, hospitality management, and food safety. It strengthens their classroom learning with real-world application while building skills in meal preparation, customer service, and presentation. The partnership enhances their educational journey while giving them the opportunity to serve their community in a meaningful way.
This intergenerational program also promotes socialization, fosters community connections, and ensures our seniors have access to fresh, high-quality, affordable meals.
To keep this program going strong, we are seeking donations for our Subsidized Senior Meal Program. Local businesses and individuals are invited to support this important initiative. Donors will be recognized at lunches, on our website, in our newsletter, and across our social media platforms. Contact Candice Wilson at [email protected] or 508-532-7944 for more information.
Together, we can continue to nourish both our seniors and the next generation of culinary professionals. Thank you for helping us grow this exciting partnership!
