Town Manager Michael Hebert praised the Town of Ashland for being recognized as part of the National Academy of Public Administration's Celebration of the American Public Servant, which honored 250 public service champions from communities across the country.

As part of the year-long celebration, communities were invited to share stories that highlight the unique role local government plays in bringing people together. Ashland's annual Town Hall Trick-or-Treat tradition was selected as one of those stories.

Hebert noted that what began nearly a decade ago as a simple bowl of candy on Town Hall counters has grown into one of Ashland's most cherished community traditions. Each Halloween, Town Hall transforms into a festive destination for families, with Town staff in costume joined by local businesses, the Ashland Public Library, and the Federated Church to create a fun, welcoming downtown celebration.

Hebert said the recognition extends far beyond a Halloween event. It reflects what makes Ashland special—a community that values connection, tradition, and creating memorable experiences for residents of all ages. He congratulated the entire Ashland community on receiving this well-deserved national recognition.
