Have you noticed that the planters and in-ground gardens that the Ashland Garden Club maintains reflect the seasons as much as possible? We begin our planting in late March, weather permitting, and always aim to have our plantings ready in time for the Boston Marathon because we know that there will be a large number of visitors around town.  

Probably like most gardeners, spring is our favorite season. Our spring and fall plantings are always limited by the plants that are available at that time of year. We try to use relatively drought-tolerant plants in our summer plantings because water is always an issue. We use an array of greens and other decorations in our winter displays because we know they'll be in place for the long winter months until we can plant in the spring. Please take a minute to enjoy our efforts as you go through your busy day.
