The Friends of the Ashland Senior Center have collaborated with the Callahan Senior Center, in Framingham, MA, to create multiple travel opportunities for its members and friends. All efforts have been made to offer a wide range of trips to all seniors over 55 who are independent and can maneuver without assistance.

Plans are in the works to announce specific and general information about each trip at a Travel Information Night to be announced soon. In the meantime, take a look and see what’s happening.

June 6, 2023 - Day Trip:

TRIBUTE TO THE TEEN IDOLS OF THE 50S & 60S

Travel to the Log Cabin in Holyoke, Ma, and get ready for lunch, then relive your teenage years through the music sung by Dave Colucci & Donna - Lee DePrille as they pay tribute to the Teen Idols of the 50s & 60s.

Enjoy a three-hour hands-on baking class at King Arthur Flour company. Whether a novice or highly experienced baker, you will be sure to truly relish this delicious experience!

Sunday, November 2023 - Day Trip

A New England Christmas - Salem Cross Inn & Sturbridge Village Roaring fires, festive foods, and early New England holiday traditions will help us experience what Christmas was like in the 17 and 1800s. Our first stop will be a Salem Cross Inn for their Fireplace feast prepared on the open hearth fieldstone fireplace. Watch the prime rib roast, make the apple pie, stir the chowder in the antique cauldron, and enjoy hot mulled cider or wine. The day’s menu will consist of Prime Rib, Choder of the Sea, Homemade rolls and muffins, herb-roasted potatoes, spinach Friends of the Ashland Senior Center pie, butternut squash, and fresh apple pie.

Our day will continue with a stop at Old Sturbridge Village for their Christmas by Candlelight event. You will view authentic demonstrations of holiday traditions and witness Victorian carolers as they stroll the village.
